Adam Dawson, CFP

CEO | Partner

For more than two decades, Adam has helped hundreds of people simplify their life and enhance their peace of mind through sound financial guidance and a disciplined approach to investing. He loves teaching how to maximize gains and minimize losses because he learned the pains of not having enough money as a child in a broken home. Adam is the author of Chasing Chances: How Smart People Lose Money Investing, and Timeless Principles of Financial Security. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, which requires rigorous training in every area of personal finance, including investment management, retirement planning, insurance planning, tax planning, and estate planning.

Adam is a graduate of Leadership Las Vegas and serves on the Investment Committee for Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada, which teaches financial literacy and career readiness to children and teenagers. He also serves on the local steering committee for the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors and as chairman of the board for Zion’s Youth Symphony and Chorus, a large faith-based group that performs at the Smith Center twice a year.

On a personal note…

  • Adam is an accomplished singer, pianist and composer. When he was 18, he wrote a piano concerto and performed it with his high school orchestra. In college he sang one of his compositions with BYU Singers in Carnegie Hall. (Click here to listen to these recordings.)
  • Many people think he has three sets of twins: two daughters who are 18 months apart, two sons who really are twins, and two tiny shorkies from the same litter.
  • Adam is the oldest of ten kids, with a 25-year gap between him and his youngest brother.
  • He loves running and cycling with his wife Andrea and has done ONE triathlon. He would do more if they would let him swim with a life jacket.
  • Adam is 6’4” but has never quite been able to dunk a basketball.
  • One of his greatest challenges was learning how to stop smiling long enough to play a convincing Judd, the villain in the musical “Oklahoma.”
